This company is a complete rip off, dont believe anything they tell you (\we work for the goverment\) and leave the place immediately. We were brought here by a tuktuk after a 'very nice gentleman' told us on our first day in Bangkok to go here. Big mistake.

A tik tuk driver brought us to 168 Travelling Company.. We stupidly bought a 2 day trek for Chiang Mai without doing any internet price research. But the trek sounded good: 2 hr elephant ride in the jungles of Chiang Mai, 2 hr. River rafting, visiting 2 hill tribes and spending the night in a tribal village, meals included. And the travel agent seemed so friendly. The trek we got when we were in Chiang Mai was nothing like promised. Minivan took us to one village where we ate ramen noodle soup prepared by the tour guide. No interaction with villagers or tour of village. Then a 2 hr uphill walk to an ordinary campsite ( not another tribal village). Where we slept on dorm like platforms. Short half hour rafting trip. Next day a 15 minute ride on an elephant, led in a circle by a guide. A bowl of boiled rice...and then back to Bangkok. We learned that the others in our group, who booked with other agencies paid 40 USD for this 2 day camping trip. They were not sold a hill tribe trek to 2 villages, like we were. We paid at least 4 times that amount(!) because we were promised A fantastic overnight experience. Moral: Avoid 168 Travelling Company in Bagkok. And refuse to be taken anywhere recommended by a tuk tuk driver.

We were brought here by a tuctuc driver. The man who we spoke to (Tom) told this agency is runned by the goverment (big lie) and that they got the best prices because they are a goverment organization (big lie). We were a little overwhelmed and we had to decide quick because we were leaving in a couple hours. Tom arranged a 10 day trip for us. The 'resorts' were okay but we paid at least double the price, such a waste of money. Our advice: DON'T let them fool you and plan your own vacation!!

We are 2 italian turists and we made the mistake to ask this agency for a tour in north Thailand . They made us pay at least twice the real value. Be careful when you go around in Bangkok, because you might meet someone, very kind and untrue, working for this agency, who tells you that the temple you are going to visit, is close and convinces you to visit another temple and go to this agency. Immediatly a very cheap tuk tuk arrives and pick you up.That was what happened to us the day after our arrival in Bangkok... and later we felt very stupid.

Very very bad experience, everything we booked with this travel agency was bad and too much expansive. The train tickets were more than twice the price. The trek we booked in Chiang Maï was horrible, it was not a trek. A crazy driver brought us in an elephant farm, but the elephant was in a really bad health and very hurt by the people in this farm. The Tuk Tuk drivers receive commission and fuel for free when you buy in this Travel Agency, so BECAREFUL if a Tuk Tuk bring you there, run out quickly.
