On our return journey from Phi Phi Island, the driver told us that he just overshot our hotel, and dropped us saying that it's just 50 steps back. When I couldn't see the hotel even after walking around 100 steps, I checked on Google maps. I was shocked to see that he had dropped us almost 2 km. before the hotel. And that's on top of the fact that he had kept us waiting in the sun for around half an hour before starting from the dock.
