This place is absolutely magical. If you’re looking for THE most exciting and ethical elephant experience in Phuket, look no further. Although still young, Tree Tops is embarking on a wonderful mission of safeguarding retired elephants from the logging and show business industries. Formerly a riding camp, the area was bought out by new management and converted into a complete sanctuary where elephants can roam as they please. Visitors have the luxury of feeding elephants bananas, observing in close proximity the elephants in their natural habitats, and eating a delicious vegetarian buffet while watching the elephants bathe and graze. Tree Tops also has an ambitious goal of expanding their mission to contribute to the conservation of these majestic animals outside of their sanctuary, though that will only happen if people like you visit and help them keep growing. 100% recommend the experience for everyone, from backpackers to couples and families alike.

Amazing place to visit. Elephants are very well looked after in a natural environment. No chains, tricks or bathing but plenty of real elephant life. Elephants are free to roam, bathe and eat as they like.

If you are looking for an elephant sanctuary in Phuket - look no further. Tree Tops Elephant Reserve is truly one of a kind in Phuket. They are the only sanctuary in Phuket that has no riding, no bathing and even no touching of the elephants allowed. Wow! My experience here was amazing. We got to feed the elephants bananas and then follow the elephants around the beautiful property to observe them in their own habitat. The elephants bathe themselves which is much more amazing to watch than take part in yourself. The staff is very knowledgeable on the elephants and are more than happy to answer any questions you have. The staff also allow plenty of time for you to stop and observe the elephants, as well as snap as many photos as you’d like. There are a few shaded areas which we stopped at during the tour, to take a break from the Thailand heat and where the tour guides provided cold water to refill your bottle. After observing the elephants for quite sometime, we were taken to a beautiful spot on the property where a delicious buffet lunch was provided. I cannot recommend this reserve enough. Thank you for the great time and experience ️

This is a beautiful experience, and my favorite thing I have done in Thailand, which speaks volumes. It is also so much fun to feed the elephants and walk with them. You never know when one will come over to say hello. What special beautiful creatures they are. The atmosphere is laid back and you can really enjoy the elephants. Our tour guide Ten was eloquent in explaining all the aspects of the elephants history and their unique personalities and the role their mahout plays. The stories of the elephants, and the people, involved are very moving, and will leave you thinking. The food is delicious as well, it was actually my favorite meal in Thailand. Definitely get there and have an experience you'll never forget.

Absolutely fantastic afternoon we had here, one of the highlights of my Thailand trip. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and you'll get up close with the elephants.

A truly magical experience! We visited Treetops on New Years Day and had a fantastic time walking with the elephants, watching them eating pineapple leaves in the forest and bathing themselves. There are also plenty of photo and feeding opportunities. The work that has been put into giving these elephants a free life is so heart warming. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand and Louise (the operator) has such a genuine passion for the elephants and their home. Our tour was finished with a beautiful lunch overlooking the elephants playing in the water.

We visited tree tops on our last day in Thailand, and it really was a magical day. We knew we wanted to see them, but wanted to make sure we weren’t contributing to any unethical treatment. Tree tops is a beautiful property, with elephants who have all been rescued from various occupations. Feeding them was so cool!! And just getting to be around them was amazing- knowing that when they interact with you, it is their choice to do so- makes it that much better. BONUS- the meal they feed you is very good!!
