A guy we stumbled upon at a Mares shop in the Philippines who happen to be the director of SSI ‘Mark’ told us nice things about this place and that he personally knows the owner of the shop so we immediately booked with Scuba fish on our next holiday and we did not regret it. Hands down one of the best dive experiences we had so far. Even before our arrival, communication was clear and prompt and all our questions were answered in the best way possible. The whole process was ultra smooth for us and everyone we met just had a smile on them during our 3 day trip - everything was faultless. The food was great and the boat was comfortable and it even comes with a dry deck where we can charge our GOPRO which was a nice touch. Mike, the photographer onboard shot awesome photos of our underwater experience and we ended up buying them as a souvenir because they were simply stunning. However, we wouldn’t have enjoyed our holiday this much if it wasn’t for the coolest dive master we ever met ‘Safari’. Apart from teaching us many tricks underwater he is just the nicest guy to hang out with and it was a joy to him as our dive master. This guy is just exerts nothing but positive energy around everyone and I would highly recommended him to anyone at any level who wants to have a great time. I purchased a \fun dive\ day here Feb2020, 2 dives that cost around 130 euros. The local staff was nice, the British dive master girl was chill, but the instructor seemed to hate me from the moment we met. He made his jokes and remarks at my expense and was mostly nowhere to be seen. Also with his long fins he propelled past all the sights like a torpedo, so the \dive\ was playing catch up against the current. Yes both dives were against the current and the guide instructor would not stop. He went past all the sealife to pedal against the current into areas of dead coral. The least professional dive guide I've ever had. Sudden bursts of friendliness and professionalism struck him when he was trying to sell me something at times for a few seconds. If I didn't buy he would punish me with exclusion? Also I was promised a maximum group size of 4 but even our part of the group was 5 persons and all the groups were on top of each other so this was an outright lie or terribly mismanaged. Divers were all around me circling under and over, except for the guide who was pedalling over dead coral like a torpedo. Horrible experience, I do not recommend this dive center for anything except chatting with the local office staffs. The most crowded, most overpriced, shallowest, shortest, disappointing dives of my 120 dives. And the most tiring ones. When my instructor was sheltering from the current, instantly when I catch up he just went on. I tried to take my own stops to observe some sea life but the guide would not wait. Whole of 2 dives AGAINST CURRENT. Insanity. So unnecessary. So unprofessional. Also they apparently do not pay their local staffs enough salary from their extortionate prices as at the end they tried to get everyone to \tip\ their OWN crew, as if tipping was something that you actively bargain for.
We passed with my friend Benjamin our PADI Open Water certification with Scubafish. We could not dream better. A perfect experience from the beginning to the end !! All the staff were very welcoming, smiling and professional. I especially want to thank Klaus who accompanied us during those 3 days of certification. Klaus has been a perfect teacher, who has been able to mix humor and seriousness to give us lessons of a very high quality. I have never felt so safe before. Besides, even my girlfriend decided to dive while she was scared crazy about it before. The prices of the center are certainly a little higher than their competitor of the island, but the quality of the service is certainly superior: all the dives are done on their boats (3 of memory), many snacks and meals during the day, each dive group has a very small size (we had 2 monitors for 3 the first day), possibility of diving a third time at the end of the day for less blow ... In short, I want to say a big thank you to Scubafish for this beautiful experience and especially to Klaus who made it unforgettable by his person. THANK YOU
Super solid choice for diving in Koh Lanta. Great staff, good equipment, and my only big complaint is how slow the boat was compared to the other outfits around. Not a big deal for Koh Haa, but it's a pretty long epic ride to Hin Muang. Perhaps that has changed since we were there. I'd still highly recommend Scubafish, and their prices are good too. My friend did his OW and I tagged along. Great instructor (although I'm spacing out on her name at this point as it was awhile ago!).
