If you’re looking for an amazing dive center in Koh Tao, look no further! Big Blue is THE place. From the dive center to the accommodation to the restaurant, everything was great! I spent the last week staying at the dive school and diving with them and couldn’t be happier. The whole staff is incredibly friendly and do everything to make sure you have the best experience possible. The dive center is very professional and safe and the dive masters do a great job of making you feel comfortable and ready to dive. The equipment is in great condition and well taken care of. The vibe of the place makes it feel like you’re part of a big family. It really adds a lot to the whole diving experience. Whether you want to get open water certified, do fun fives, or get into more technical diving, there is something for everyone at Big Blue. Then celebrate your day of diving with a drink and delicious meal at the beachfront bar/restaurant during sunset. If you come to Koh Tao, do yourself a favor and go to Big Blue! :)

This was my second visit to Big Blue, my first was in 2009 when I got my OW. I chose Big Blue as they are a professional, kind, caring dive shop. As an anxious diver, I find it useful to talk to the instructors before I dive. I messaged Big Blue on fb and they replied immediately giving me information on the costs, number of divers per instructor and possible sites. They even offered to pick me up for free from the pier even though I wasn’t staying at their resort. The day before I went diving I explained to the owner about my dive style; lil bit nervy but calm once I feel I can trust my instructor. The owner was understanding and reassuring, something I’ve not experienced from all shops. The next day I was paired with the instructor Verena who was awesome! She was clear with instructions, signals and was patient in reviewing the equipment set up with me. On board she explained the type of fish we’d likely see and the terrain underwater. Initially I’d only planned to do a couple of dives with a Big Blue but I felt so comfortable with them and my instructor I booked more. We did dive throughs and, a chimney and, saw large schools of fish. Luckily my friend had a go-pro and was able to capture some underwater shots. The dive boat was large and clean and had a sun deck too. They accommodated my vegan dietary needs, providing a good sized meal on the full dive day. I’m glad i returned to big blue and would recommend them to anyone planning to visit Koh Tao.
I chose to dive with Big Blue after reading online reviews, and I couldn't be happier that I went with them. They were incredibly accommodating and flexible, sending a boat out for a night dive just for me, and making sure I had an amazing trip with spectacular diving. I had an excellent dive master (JP) who was highly knowledgeable and attentive (I hadn't dived for almost 3 years). I've been fortunate enough to dive around the world, and I cannot recommend Big Blue highly enough; as an indication of how much I enjoyed it, I already started planning my next trip before I'd even left :)
