Summary: A must-try for those with more than just a weekend in BKK and a taste for very spicy food. Those who brave the journey to this somewhat far-flung spot will be rewarded with unique, tasty dishes and a great setting. Tips: Everything is delicious. The chili stir fry and stink bean with shrimp were my favorite dishes. For more info, check out the Mark Weins youtube video. He did a great job reviewing this place. Quality: The quality of the food here is fantastic. It's a spot that specializes in freshwater fish, which may not be to everyone's taste, but the items are so heavily seasoned, the somewhat \mossy\ taste of some freshwater fish is totally obscured. The seasoning is delicious. Warning: This place is famous (or notorious, depending on whom you ask) for their level of spiciness. You can ask them to tone it down, but if you go with the normal version, you may want to make peace with your creator / housemaid beforehand :-) Value: Moderately priced, by local standards. I don't recall the exact price, but it was reasonable, for local seafood. Service/Ambiance: The service was OK ( I don't think anyone speaks English, so perhaps best to point at photos of dishes found on Google Maps). The ambiance is great, however. The restaurant is a large open building on a side street well outside the city, so it's very peaceful and relaxing there.
Best place to have a local spicy dishes, choice of meat mainly are fish from the dam, also some hard to find meat such as crocodile, deer, frog, bore.
cat fish with the tom yum soup very good hope you should try it!
Each dish is quite unique. It is quite far from town but it is worth going.
