It's a spot worth hiking for. I'm giving this a 4-star review! Despite the challenges in reaching this place which you need to drive up from the center of Phuruea district to the base of the sanctuary for more or less than an hour, you'll get that cite of a real wildlife environment as we were able to see elephant footprints, manures and big dead bones. We were also able to see a wild deer on-the-run. The best thing about this place during our trip was the local personnels and guards including on-the-job trainee foresters who accommodated and accompanied us in to this protected jungle. They were all so knowledgeable of the plentiful varieties of land orchids, stone orchids, hanging orchids and every unique, beautiful and peculiar beings in the sanctuary. I guess I will come back with another group of friends to hike with.

Amazon huge wild area. Very interesting environment, tick forest in lower part and dry forest in the top part. Great orchids. Easy to see elephants.

Beautiful place to visit. The drive up from registration can be steep and the road has areas that need to be fixed. We did make it up in a Honda City. Had cloud cover so couldnt get any nice pics on the mountain the day we visited. Once you get as far as you can go by car you can walk trails /roads to view more. Fee to get into park.

A very wild area, often encased in cold fog. Little bird diversity or abundance in the park, but some unusual birds. Wildlife is much in evidence, although very wild and shy. Hiking must be done in a group, with an assigned guide. Note: There is some very good birding along the road in from Hwy 203, through the agricultural area. Cabins available, advanced reservations required
