Admission tickets are 10 Baht for Thais and 50 Baht for foreigners (regardless whether you have a work permit and/or pink ID card - a pet peeve for many of us foreigners living). That’s fine if you just want to visit one place, but gets annoying if you want to visit more places. Actually, some sites do allow for nice views ‘from the outside’ so you don’t have to pay anything. You just can’t get up close and personal, but IMHO they look nicer from further away. I’ll take the free views, thank you.

This is the culture of Thailand, the Kingdom. Enjoy the visit, be respectful, and have a great time at the beautiful historical park. I would recommend a full day in the region, enjoy some food on the river when you are done visiting Ayutthaya. Plenty of tasty drinks outside the park, would also recommend grabbing one.

Great place to learn about Thai history. There are lots of beautiful temples to visit you could spend a few days and not get bored. If you're looking for a day trip from Bangkok Ayutthaya has a lot to offer.

One of the highlights of Thailand and can be done as a day trip from Bangkok. Highly recommend hiring one of the tuk tuk drivers when coming out of the station. Traffic in the area to get to the temples is no joke-one of our travel companions ending up getting in an accident on one of those motorbikes, so I would highly recommend just getting a tuk tuk. It's way less work and less effort to think about. The prices aren't too crazy. We paid about 15 USD per person for a half day tour. Note: Visited prior to COVID, so things may be different now.
