The best traditional crispy pancake in town. Expect a long wait. It really takes time to make one, especially with long queues ahead. This is a historic shop. It has been opened since after World War II. There are only 2 choices; sweet (made with egg yolk) or salty (made with coconut and shrimp).

“AUTHENTIC THAI CRISPY PANCAKES!!” The place went is totally one of the most famous ones in the area and one of the reason is because they have been open for generations! They divide the shop equally into 2 areas. On the left is the snack making station and on the right has a few seats for you to sit and enjoy the Thai snacks! I love how easy-going the atmosphere is and also how happy the people are there. 2 choices either the sweet or salty Kanom Bueng.. Salty Kanom Bueng (orange) : Salted shredded coconut, ground dry shrimps, spring onions and somehow tastes kinda spicy because they got a bit of black pepper in them. Sweet Kanom Bueng (yellow) : Sweeten shredded coconut, Foi Thong, dry persimmon I myself somehow love the sweet one much more.. If you’re ever in the area around Khaosan Road or Rattanakosin Island here in Bangkok, After enjoy the awesome Indian food ‘Karim Roti Mataba, I would totally recommend you check out this place! Come for a few pieces of this authentic Thai snack ‘Kanom Bueng‘. Oh! almost forget about the price.. It’s 12 THB a piece!

It's 12thb now, unlike what the last reviewer said 4 months ago. Nevertheless, a good find I would say. I tried both flavours and I gotta say i prefer the sweet one a lot more than the savoury version. Not sure whether the pricing is on the low/high end but it's definitely on the affordable side for budget tourists.

Expect long queue around 10 min. The quality of the desert is great and consistent. Must try if you're around here.
