Be respectful even when drunk. I personally had no bad encounters. My friend filed a report in English. There are English speaking officers on hand. If you don't trust the local police officers you can dial 1150 for assistance by Tourist police. August 2016

Big police station. No harm to the foreign people. Very helpful at times. Like finding real location. Good English talking staff here.

On April 9, 2017 some people on Khao San Road snatched my belongings and hit me with something on my head. I got 6 stitches. Police didn't help even I provide them video footage of incident. They are bad people in Bangkok. Don't expect any help from police.
