Still in construction, this 3 floors brand new building with a way more modern architecture will certainly surpass by every standard the old Government Hospital which was build many decades ago and has suffered consequently through all this time from the very humid climate weather and the natural decay of time. Front desk reception dude was insanely rude and useless. But doctors and nurses were great and spoke decent English. Nurse was snacking on some nuts while taking BP haha maybe not the most hygienic by western standards but fine for a case of food poisoning/motion sickness/nausea.
Got into a spill on the ground. Flesh on my knees 2 cm wide tore off and exposed my knee cap bone. Went to emergency room at 11:30am. Very slow. Got help in 15 minutes. Doctor fee 250 thb...clean wound, anaesthesia, irrigation, tetanus booster shot, antibotics pills, paracematol tabs. Total 900 baht. Worth every cent to have peace of mind. Nurses where stern looking and could be seen as impolite compared to hotel staff...but then they arent working in a hotel. Their English was barely manageable...and i suspect there may be things lost in translation. But their English was better than my thai...so no complaints there. But they were very efficient and professional...i guess if you wanted better mannered nurses try not to get seriously injured...cause its not like you have many options in Pai.
I fell off my scooter and jammed up my shoulder so I came in for x-rays to make sure it wasn’t broken. The service I received was quick and kind. The doctor’s English was good. It took about an hour in total and cost 690THB.
