Our goal is to help eliminate upfront investment on mattresses as well as drive our world towards a more sustainable, circular economy by reducing the amount of waste in the production system and ensuring that our finite natural resources are used more productively. Our company was founded in early 2018 by an impact-driven executive from the sleep industry. Prior to founding nornnorn, our Founder & CEO spent over ten years developing and executing strategies for one of Thailand's top three mattress and bedding manufacturers and distributors with nearly 90 years of history and thousands of B2B clients in Southeast Asia, South Asia and Australasia and extensive retail operations in Thailand and Myanmar. We are a member of the Indian Sleep Products Federation, a part of Mekong Innovative Startups in Tourism (MIST) Startup Accelerator 2018, a Finalist of UNEP Asia Pacific Low Carbon Lifestyles Challenge 2020, and a Finalist of World Tourism Forum Lucerne (WFTL) Start-up Innovation Camp 2020. We are a driver behind SDG Nos. 9, 12 and 13 that aim to build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialisation and foster innovation; enable sustainable consumption and production patterns; and urgently combat climate change and its impacts respectively. Additionally, we are a proud partner of Climate Neutral Now, a UN Climate Change initiative that aims to encourage and support all levels of society to take action to achieve a climate neutral world by 2050. We offset our entire 2019 carbon footprint by purchasing carbon credits through the UN Clean Development Mechanism. Our business will be carbon negative once the mattress recycling operation commences in around 2025.
