Kind of a mess crossing the border during peak holiday period, buses are full and cramped and everyone rushes on. Remember to take bags at the border crossing as the bus may just drive off without u and have to wait till the bus returns to pick u up.

Affordable transportation to all destinations.
comfortable for hanging out waiting. bus to savannakhet leaving every hour. 3 inexpensive hotel options right at the terminal.. amazing gourmet thai food place at low prices right across the hiway which is open til 2am. friendly staff at terminal hotel. tuktuk to anywhere around town @ 50 baht. frequent day and night buses to udon thani, mae sot (Sukhothai ), ubon, bangkok, rayong. mini busses to many destinations.
Not much to do or much to see here, but a hugely important cog in the road and transport infrastructure linking Thailand and Laos. There are snacks, food and drinks available, with a coffee shop on site. There are also public toilets at the station. Spend enough time and you'll figure out where to buy your ticket, or ask a friendly looking person, because there is minimal to zero English on display.
SAHAPAHN TOUR mixed review.. Pros & Cons Cons.. Paid 584 each for VIP tickets on the SAHAPAHN TOUR double decker bus back to Bangkok from Mukdahan, Thailand and was advised the seats had a massage seat feature each seat had a TV screen. After waiting for the alotted time, we got on the bus and was advised that the TV' on our requested seats were not working and the massage seat feature did not work too Ride was a little bit shakey.. Probably would have been worse on ground level. Pros.. Highly recommend the front two seats on the second story/level of the bus.. Amazing views! A bottle of water, a Sandwich, a pack of bites and a blanket were provided with the service at no extra charge Seating was comfortable and tilted back almost flat.. (not sure how that would have felt for the passengers behind us if they wanted to watch their TV screens as they were mounted behind each headrest). Guess I'll never know cos the TV weren't working any way \u200d️ Bus service left on time
