It was closed when I went today but I looked through the windows and it looks as impressive inside as it does outside

The site is simply beautiful. Unfortunately i missed the Sunday service for two reasons. 1-The service hours are not posted anywhere and 2- one cannot enter church with shorts ( rather uncatholic if i may say as my beliefs are more towards a democratic Church. Very disappointed with this as i stayed in Surat Thani for an additional three days in part because i wanted to attend the service there :( )

What an absolutely amazing cathedral! The priests and nuns are wonderful! All the parishioners are very friendly. The 9:00 am mass on Sundays is Thai/English intergrated, which is wonderful. Saturday 7:00pm Mass is Thai-Burmese integrated. Some of the older students from the associated catholic school help with the readings at the Mass also. Every Sunday, after the receiving of communion, there is a special blessing of the children. There are several hymns sung at every Mass, but at the 9:00 am Sunday one, they are all sung in English. All in all, a delightful experience. Now I don't feel so far away from what I grew up with!
