If you want peace and quiet in a mill pond calm piece of water free from the wash of river traffic, really clean ablution facilities, good security, friendly service, and an English speaking management team, then you have come to the right place. There is now a new restaurant/bar (with the best coffee this side of Turin) as well as a well stocked chandlery. There is also a gem of a restaurant just 5 mins away by scooter hidden up a mangrove creek. Ao Nang is some 15mins away and Krabi Town about 25mins by road and about 2nm by dinghy to Krabi River Marina. For reprovisioning, there is a fabulous Makro hyper market along the road to Ao Nang and two local open air markets.

Management of this port helped me amazingly in very unpleasant situation I got into because ferry company gave me incorrect address where the ferry will pick us up. Nice to see that good people are still around and I wish you only best success with development of the Takola Port!

Still buliding on to complete, the raod is easy and only last part is still a dust road. Only 20 minutes from Ao Nang. From here wil depart the day trip boats and charter boat. very convenient being so close. The way out of sea is bout five miles in mangrove froest. Must be carefull during low tide.
