Best prices and great selection for when you need to stock up for a party. Only issue the lines take forever, as everyone has overladen trolleys. They have this weird thing about not taking a foreign Visa card. Food is ok if you get the munchies after shopping.

For the most part, Makro is good. It is set up mostly as a wholesaler, but difference from retail is rarely more than 1 or 2 baht, so the main reason to shop there is it's easier to buy bulk quantity and possible to find product lines not stocked elsewhere. This Makro does not have all the products that other branches have.

Butterfly Buffalo

Generally the best prices for all kinds of foodstuffs including baking goods. You will also find appliances, electronics, furniture, office equipment/supplies, household supplies, etc. There is also a small but nice section of foreign foods and ingredients. Makro has a Costco look and feel but definitely with more of a wholesale spin to it. This is where many restaurant and shop owners come to do their shopping. There is a modest Thai food court inside. As is typical Thai style, several smaller specialty shops and food kiosks are located outside. You will have to obtain a membership card in order to shop at Makro which isn't difficult to do. Cash-only transactions, will not take credit cards. You may want to shop later on in the day. During rush hour, the carpark area gets filled up quickly even though it's huge, and the cash register queues inside are long.
