Disappointing but worth the trip. The Ranger Lake House: pros: stunning view, no Moskitos, friendly staff, quietness, toilets were few but good, meals were ordinary Thai food nothing special (vegan and vegetarian food offered), free drinking water, kayaks for free but not in good condition cons: to many houses (approximately 50 with 2-4 sleeping berth), not a private feeling it's more a camping ground, not allowed to swim into the lake/ farther than the small swimming area, the place looks not well maintained, you see collapsed houses and very cheap-builded piers, even for Thailand. It's really overpriced for what you get, I felt liked a cow that's being milked. Maybe you should spend more money for the alternative, private housings on the lake (approximately 10 private operated stays) The Tour: We've chosen hiking to the view point, a Safari tour and a cave visit. Friendly guides and pleasant group size. The hiking was ambitious and dangerous. Remember you're far, far away from an hospital. We didn't have time to enjoy the nature because we were in a rush. The boat safari was not very successful. I guess it's because of the noisy (!) engine, which scares away each animal. The schedule was tight, they always remind you to be on time, to do this and that. It felt like a school trip. The Park is a flooded forest and a part of a power production plant, so don't expect as much wildlife as in the mangroves or a natural lake. There are a few birds and of course monkeys like Gibbons or Lemurs. Don't get me wrong, I definitely recommend a 2-days-stay on the lake and I don't want to miss that experience. But all those 5-star-ratings were misleading for us.

Great place! The food was amazingly good. The view at sunrise is worth getting up for early. Just make sure that when you book as a solo traveler and prefer not to share, you book a single bungalow otherwise you might be paired up with stranger. I had to pay extra on the spot since I didn’t feel like sharing.
The most amazing place in the world! If you do go, request Chai as your guide! He’s so passionate about the park and what he does! You’ll have the experience of a lifetime.
Wonderful place to stay for at least a night. Close to nature, far from civilisation, amazing food and nice people. Kayaks are free or you can go for a swim in the lake if you feel like you want a shower, because you won't find one here. View Point is about 15 mins by boat plus an hour hike and it's worth it ! Bottom line, one of the best places on this holiday !!
One of my favourite experiences after visiting Thailand. The peace and quiet, the scenery and the people we met definitely made this an extremely special trip.
