it used to be back then year 2012 no passport required for malaysian within 2 km for them to buy goods in this area during weekend only.. but now not anymore.. i don't know what the current situation now..

BORDER CLOSED FOR SAME DAY VISA RUNS!!! Stamp out/stamp in same day visas from thailand are no longer allowed at this border crossing as of Jan 2020. We just drove six hours for nothing. Had to turn around and drive 10 hrs to ranong.
