Thank you MediaKids Academy for taking good care of me during my teaching days. My Thailand journey is great because of you! From my accommodation, my lessons, my visa run, my work permit and even my personal needs, you helped me a lot! Thanks! More power to you!

DO NOT USE. Schools are located in the provinces with very little other foreign teachers. The accommodation provided is sub standard and basically the equivalent to a shed. My agency / landlady confiscated money owed saying I owed utility bills. The landlady provided no bills but a hand written note with an amount on it which was more than my rent monthly. I only ran air con and a fridge. They did nothing. The company is only interested in money and will pressure you. They wanted me to start teaching the day after a 24 hour trip. Use Facebook groups to locate schools. You are treated much better and they tend to be much more accommodating. To Repeat, DO NOT USE! Go direct to schools and teaching English in whatever country on Facebook. People are very helpful on the groups and don’t lie to you like these cowboys.

It’s unfortunate I even had to give MediaKids one star to write this review. If you like working 70 hour weeks with no support and little pay, this is the job for you!

Word of advice to HR- do not set up an interview only to tell the job candidate on the day of the interview that all positions have been filled-this is extremely unprofessional and off-putting. Please work out how to do things properly in future to accord more respect to candidates during the recruitment process. Its like turning up to a job interview only to be told they have already hired someone else; how would you feel if the tables were turned?

Do not work for MediaKids unless you enjoy working long hours on nights and weekends. For almost 2 years I worked as both a teacher and an office consultant for MK and the only reason I stayed that long is because of the unbelievably smart, fun and kind Thai staff that work there. HOWEVER, the woman who runs the company forces all of them, and her teachers, to drop whatever they are doing for the sake of work. Here are some examples: - As a teacher, I was asked to teach 24 periods per week, which is the maximum. Not the end of the world in and of itself. Except those 24 periods couldn't cover as many of the students as the school wanted, so MK gave them the go ahead to put 100 students in my classroom each period. - As a consultant, I averaged 2 working weekends per month. The month I finally decided I'd had enough of the CEO's demands, I was forced to work 4 weekends in a row. Just shy of 30 straight days. - As a friend of the staff that still works at MediaKids, I invited some of my former colleagues to my wedding. I gave them several months warning so they could request this one Sunday evening off. Denied. The woman who runs MediaKids is incredibly wealthy. And yet she almost never rewards her loyal staff with pay raises or even simple praise. She makes them work 80-hour weeks and refuses to pay them anything close to what they would get at any other Thai company. And if you teach for MediaKids, she'll do the same to you.

Unorganized and unprofessional. The salary is low and the schools are in dead end towns. They say the schools are near big cities, but it's not really practical to travel there apart from the weekend. Profit first. Education second, third, tenth or who really cares? Definitely not the media kids.
