Mueang Chiang Mai District, Thailand
Tambon Nong Pa Khrang,

Very nice and interesting! People explained us about their work and how they are making scarfs and dressings, jewellery and umbrellas. I had a nice time watching them at their work! And it was all for free! If you visit Chiang Mai you should definitely go there!

Pricey silk (and other non-silk) products from clothing to bedsheets. I feel like this is for tourists only. Behind the store you will see a few demos on how silk is extracted and used. They accept credit cards.
A great place to learn abt silk origin and then you find a large variety of silk made products (very good quality) at a good price (i'm sure prices there are below than the price at city's stores)
This is a great place. The prices are high, but the products are top quality. We did a burn test to make sure it was real silk ( I'm suspicious) and it definitely was. I walked in to get a shirt for my dad. They didn't have the size and color I wanted, so they made one to order and delivered it to my hotel the next morning at exactly the time promised. They don't charge any extra for makin it or delivering it. Just the same price as the shirt. The staff is very helpful and courteous (sometime a little too helpful). It's fun to walk around and see and touch all of the beautiful patterns and textures and colors. I recommend. FYI Men's shirts are 50-100usd scarves are 25-60usd and kerchiefs are around 13-20usd.
Beautiful Thai silk , welcome and helpful staff.
Factory is no more, but the store is still open, may 25, 2019. They told us no more making silk. Photo shows the old work room. They have no more silk worms, but remnants of the old displays. Jeff
Tuck tuck around will you bring you here and show how they do silk manually , they have a shop with beautifully silk for a price that start around 790xM clean and professional staff
