Went this morning (15.2.21) to renew my Thai driving license. All docs ready for submission. Found out once there (I was there 15 min after opening time) that due to Covid now all applications must be done by appointment ONLY. They fixed mine on the 2.4.21. By then my licence will be already expired (I was told ever mind\) and of course my medical cert will be expired too (that, sorry, I have to redo!). Luckily the certificate of residence issued by my embassy will be valid for 1 yr so I don't need to get an updated one. If anyone is wondering if it is possible to fix an appointment on line, unfortunately I have no idea.

They could communicate where to go in between each process a bit better. They just sling their hand in the general direction with no explanation. The woman in the testing room was very kind and explained things in English for me each time. Make sure you schedule an appointment beforehand. I was in and out in under an hour! Well organized with smooth flow.

Good and fast service for extending the license. For Foreigners renewing you license from 2Y to 5Y during the time of Covid-19: 1. Make a booking by walking in to the information counter in building 3. They will give you card with your name and date. 2. Ready the following documents - Expired or expiring Thai license. - First page of passport original copy - Copy of Visa page - Copy of last entry date page - OrginalCopy of workpermit containing the resident address page (if you don't have it, it need to be taken from your embassy) - OrginalCopy of the workpermit extension page - Medical Cetificate (Note this is valid only for 1 month. For people going to this branch, just tell the bike taxi guys near the entrance gate at the road. They will take u to a clinic and wait for as well and drop u again at the build 3. Medical is 120 and takes only 15 min and bike taxi 70 baht.) 3. On the appointment date (any time between 9.30am to 2.30pm), go to information counter with this document and a queue number will be given. 4. Perform the 3 test (video is cancelled due to covid), take picture and pay. You can get the license on the same day (Vehicles 505 and cars 255. If there are any changes to be made on you previous license they will charge you extra 50) Note: - Whole process will take around 45 min - There is a Krung Thai ATM inside the building. - There is a photocopy place at the food court area out side the main building. - If you are extending both car and bike license, you need a 2nd send set of copies of the documents mentioned under item 2 (the medical can be a copy of the orginal for your 2nd set). - Put your signature on all the copied documents. - Don't forget the facemask.
