It’s an international airport that’s not far from the heart of the city, Chiangmai city. It’s very convenient to reach comparing with the other big cities. However, during COVID 19 the airport’s traffic is gone.

Been here 3 times. A nice mountain view during take off/landing... Small airport but comfortable enough.... Not really far from the downtown of Chiang Mai... Also easy to get Taxi and public transport.

Very good and now with Covid-19 precautions in place many changes to the procedures for entry and check-in. Many shops closed and limited selections available.

Security is in place at all entry doors. Staff are always incredibly friendly and helpful. I needed wheelchair assistance as I'd injured my foot. Air Asia staff member met me at the plane. Arranged for another staff member to mind my luggage while he helped me to a Taxi and then retrieved my bags. On my last visit 20/12/2020 it was extremely busy and crowded. Covid19 precautions are in place. It is ILLEGAL now not to wear a mask. About time too. It can be rather daunting after a long flight, but airline, airport and taxi staff are always willing to assist with a smile. There's numerous restaurants, fast food shops and Cafés. Toilets are also plentiful and clean. On of the better airports I've entered and exited.

Bao Chau Pham

The big plus for this airport is its in city center and offers many options to go to city center. Blame to covid, they stop the airport bus, and the airport is a but quiet also. Hope all shops there can survive. Tips: still have many restaurants after sucurity screen so no worries. They also have book store :)
