Road is good until the last 2km. Then it is beat up pavement. Lots of construction going on here.
Very lovely place, I've had lunch there a few times, but don't go... I like it nice and quiet
Kaeng Pha Dai is a small park run by the Muang Yai municipality. It marks the place where the border between Thailand and Laos changes from the Mekong River to a land border. There is a small restaurant on site offering mostly various kinds of fish dishes. Menus are only in Thai. The river here is constricted and there are lots of rocks jutting into the river which make it particularly scenic when the rive is low. It is usually quiet. There are a few cabins for rent. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, the road to get here is in terrible shape due to large trucks doing construction on the riverbank of the Mekong upstream.
