Fun show in a venue with drinks, food and comedy show space upstairs. Easy options given to purchase tickets. Good range of acts available, well publicised on social media and posters so the public can see when shows are coming up. Our show was pitched at the right age and enjoyed by the children watching as well as the adults. A good laugh and entertaining day out. This was a first visit, we'll be going again.
I watched an IMPROV show by the Bangkok Improv All-Stars. It was a pleasantly surprising experience. As an audience member, I didn't realize how much participation we all had in the show. It feels like no two shows will ever be a alike. Great place, affordable drinks. Very good acoustics such that a mic wasn't necessary. I am looking forward to the next show. *Pro Tip - they have early bookings online for a discounted rate. I suggest to make early bookings as the shows get packed.
Standup comedy in Thailand? Well - answer is yes and it's a good one. Talents are from almost everywhere from the world as most of the performers are expats in Thailand. As mostly amateur performers are the regular performers its really an interesting aspect to find some creative performances. Few great, well known performers also performs here and truly this place returns to be a place to pay a visit without any doubt. Location - just upstairs of The Royal Oak pub at sukumvit soi 33/1. If still lost - the same soi of Robinhood, go inside around a 100 meters - it's right there to ur right ( as long as you are walking straight). Price- few hundred bucks for shows. Cheaper when book online. Just pop a beer or two during show from the mini kiosk or just grab from downstairs. Don't forget to have some amazing food from The Royal oak before the shows - usually shows finish late and their kitchen is closed by that time. Food and drinks there are reasonable. What's good there - a lot of laughter and making few new friends - priceless Something negative - the stairs to the hall. But when going downstairs - you wont care much as u will already been filled with a lot of entertainment... Impression: Thais also can do standup comedy, some are impressive too. TCBB also offers workshops for would be comedians, give it a try - may be that's ur hidden talent!
Chris is a great host! Whenever I'm here, I'm filled with laugher. Everyone is very friendly, often have new comedians and new materials. Just a great way to spend my Friday nights.
