Former Instructor. Think carefully before booking with this guy Rob-owner. After working one month the operation is a joke and far better places to spend your hard earned money to cruise and learn than give it to this @. Boats need servicing, course not full liveaboard, staff don't speak English, does not abide by ASA policies, nickel and dimes you. No alcohol for students while on vacation, no coffee, no condiments, list goes on. He's an angry old man that pretends he was a sailor and doesn't care about customers other than taking your . There are far better operations out there. Please do your research. The sailing area itself is incredible but either no wind or thunderstorms. Trust me on this

I have held off writing a report for 2 years. At the time it appeared that the company was changing ownership and we didn't want to put out a bad review for the new owner in case he was going to improve things. Our experience with Rob was disappointing and we felt we were way over charged for what we got. The boat broke down the first day and had to return to the marina for the night. The second day after finally getting out on the water and anchoring for the night the head outlet became plugged with calcified ......something....and my husband and I had to help clean it out which took a few hours. Our instructor spent most of his time on his cell phone and seemed less than enthused about having to take us out. I had to really bite my lip over some of the comments he made. The best part of the experience was that we did accomplish one of our main goals....to attain our ASA certification. I would not recommend this company based on our experience.
Did a live aboard family cruise with Yachtpro with my wife and I getting our ASA 101,103, 104. Was an amazing time. Mikey did a wonderful job on our introduction to sailing our first day. Gunnar was with us for the live aboard portion and I can't say enough good things about him. Very safety conscious and well versed in the art of sailing. If you're thinking of doing your sailing course I highly recommend this place. Rob's breakdown of the costs and what was covered made it super simple to understand. Communication back and forth over email prior to the trip was prompt and clear. Thanks again to all of the folks at Yachtpro for an awesome sailing adventure.
Very professional, Robs a international skipper legend. Owned a successful Yachtpro at St kilda, Australia for a decade before setting up over here in 1999. Very smart navagator. Was a air traffic controller. Runs a great charter amd sailing school business. In gorgeous Phuket. His local knowledge and staff. Bent over backwards to keep things running smooth on my trip. Really set up a great plain to teach me to sail. While chartering the yacht for a week with a staff member on board to navagate and be my tour guide. Worth the money to see unforgetable views, locations to explore, food to eat. Forget the 5 stars !!! More like 10 star operation & experience.
I picked this company because of their good reviews on Tripadvisor, but beware. This company is very friendly upfront, but once they have your credit card information things change. Beware and enjoy Thailand without this company.
