Old Khmer medical station. Cool, but nothing spectacular

Prasat Chang Pi (Arokayasala #12) Location: Chang Pi, Sikhoraphum District, Surin Province. GPS Coordinates (WGS84): N 14.929922, E 103.701750 Thai Name: “ปราสาทช่างปี่” Literal English translation: “Castle Clarinet” Prasat Chang Pi was a Mahayana Buddhist monastery, constructed with laterite and sandstone in square planning face east, ca 13th century. The Prasat, consists of main temple, vihara, gallery, Gopura arch and water pond, was served as an “Arokayasala” hospital-one of 102 built throughout Khmer empire under the command of King Jayavarman VII (1181-1220) -as cited in Cambodia’s Prasat Ta Prohm Inscription regarding ceremonies hold at Prasat Chang Pi. In 2010, Fine Arts Department renovated Prasat Chang Pi and discovered some artifacts which are reserved at Surin National Museum and Wat Ban Chang Pi. Refer to the attached photos (these were located on the Internet). At present, the ceremonial celebration of Prasat Chang Pi (usually on the 1st April) is performed annually by the corporation between Surin Provincial Administrative Organization, Chang Pi Sub-district Administrative Organization and villagers for promoting the site as a tourist attraction and providing cultural learning opportunity. The ceremonies include procession of Phra Phaisatkuru Buddha, the Buddha positioned at Prasat Chang Pi, and merit making. The photos were taken late afternoon just before heavy rain storm arrived, the photos clearly show storm clouds building on the horizon. Given time the newer restored laterite blocks which can clearly been seen in the photos will \weather in\ blending with the older laterite blocks.
