I must say, this border checkpoint is not as professional as the Malaysian side. It was around 7am in the morning, a few busload of passengers were there and they only open three counters. The officers really took their time to process each case. Beware that you need to have your photo taken. No \tea money\ asked, but be prepared to face grumpy or yawning officer, who is probably still sleepy from the early shift. Pls remember to fill in your Thai immigration card beforehand. They now have a similar, but new version of the immigration card. They will tell you to fill it in again if you happened to use the old version, as in my case.

On 18th May 2019, it was very much crowded due to Visak holiday. Almost more than 1500 people in the queue to get stamping to go to Thailand. Waited for 2 hours. During this atleast they can place more officers to clear immigration. Staffs are behaving like very strict. Need to address polite to the tourists.

A really disappointing facility despite it being a new and supposedly better check point entry into Thailand thru Bukit Kayu Hitam on the Malaysian side. Queueing post and facility is small and bursting on its seams during weekends and peak holidays coupled with the small number of operating immigration counters make this a nightmare. The location of the public toilets are not user friendly . Try to avoid peak hours and holidays when using this route of entry to Thailand.

One of the most screwed up Immigration Border system in the world. Should look in the mirror and compare with how other countries are doing it.
