Long wait but was able to get last minute travel vaccines. The doctor was helpful and spoke excellent English.

The Travel Clinic at Bangkok Hospital for Tropical Diseases is an excellent resource for those travelling through SE Asia. It was super convenient to book a vaccine appointment online. Be sure to bring your passport and vaccination records because they will want to see those. I spoke with a doctor (in English) and talked about what vaccines I needed for travel in SE Asia. He was very knowledgeable and I never felt pressured. I had full control over the situation the entire time. The vaccines were incredibly affordable (compared to American prices) and I was done with the whole thing in less than an hour. I will happily return here for more of my vaccine needs in the future.

In Indonesia I was told there was a medecine I urgently needed at this hospital. We traveled to Bangkok to buy this special medication. The staff were not welcoming at all and absolutely nobody spoke English. The trainees were all gossiping and chatting with each other and weren’t focused on helping patients. We asked if they had this important medication but they simply told me they didn’t have it. I asked if it maybe were available in another hospital in Bangkok but they just said they didn’t know and left us standing there. I understand if they don’t have it but I at least expect someone to help us look for an alternative solution since the illness was potentially life threatening if left untreated. Even after we organized a translator they remained unfriendly and unhelpful. I am very surprised that a hospital for tropical diseases isn’t interested in helping someone with a serious tropical disease. I ended up having to go to a private hospital were we were treated very well and were helped to find an alternative.

The nurse were kind of not welcoming and keep having chit chat with trainees. (Thai travel clinic). Said that I will get my result in 1 hour... 2 hour passed by, still no result. The receptionist at the ground floor is nice and welcoming; same goes for the doctors. 1/7/2019
