This National Park is absolutely amazing! We loved it so so much! We completed several hikes among which #1 and #3 are probably the most suitable for young kids. Trail #1 is fairly short and easy for anyone. Our twins are almost 4 years old, and mastered it easily. Trail #3 is comparatively much longer and more difficult (5.4km overall). But obviously, it’s also a lot more interesting and fun! We completed these after rainy days; which made the path muddy and slippery... We also tried trail #7 but turned back after 500meters. The main reason being that we were not prepared and were not wearing leeches socks. This is a must for most trails. You can buy these leeches socks on site. Highly recommended so that you fully enjoy the experience! Finally, noght safari in the back of a pickup truck are a real treat! We got to see multiple animals up close; porcupine and foxes being my favorites! Have fun!

Best Wildlife Area very near to Bangkok. Only 140 KM due North East on good Roads. The First Wildlife Conservation area in Thailand. Dotted with Hotels, Lodges and Restaurants of all prices and Levels. Best if you go with daily Wildlife Tour Operator like Green Leaf who also have accommodation.

The enigma that is Khao Yai National Park. On one hand it is a beautiful outdoor setting only two and a half hours drive from Bangkok with extensive wildlife, natural features and view points over 4000 feet in elevation. On the other hand it is expensive for non Thai's (10x more than for Thais), the main visitor centre is in the middle of the park and many kilometres from the both entry (payment) points, although the southern entrance does have a small centre. Facilities are limited to the visitor centres, main waterfall locations and some of the camp locations. Although you will see many deer and monkeys , spotting baboons will require some trekking and spotting elephants will be rare. If you are an expat living in Thailand, it is certainly worth a visit but due to the cost and limited attractions, it is not something to do on a regular basis.

really awesome views. at the rest stop, there are monkeys, grab on to your belongings as they snatch and limp into the trees. watch those loose items. At the top of the park, there is a deep ridge to enter the car park, you might want to ease in slow if you have a low riding car. At the peak, be careful when taking pictures, as the cliff is slippery. other than that. not much issues with the bugs.

Filled with natural beauty, flora n fauna. One will have great time n worth full trip to this national park. Entry fee for foreigners is high compared Thai national but I would request the management to considered for reduction if we have work permit. Overall very good park to spend time
