Based in a rather delapidated hotel which is currently undergoing renovations, this museum costs 50 baht to enter and is spread over many rooms. It's easy to call this many small museums together. It tells the story of the hotel, industry, mining and has an ecclectic toy collection as well. Is probably the best value museum in Phuket and it's rather large in size from what you see outside. Note that it is dusty and there are some old English explanations scattered through the museum

I really enjoyed this museum, it gives you lots of history and insight into what brought tourism to Phuket in the first place starting in the early 60's with the building of the first Hotel on the whole island. It has lots of English translations and although not thoroughly or always posted with relatible context as to what started or caused things, still really interesting! Loved the personal stories behind the founder of the hotel, his story, what he contributed to Phuket, and how it turned from a tin and rubber mining town to a modern touristic island! Small draw backs are that it's not very well lit and you have to use your imagination a little to put the things on display into context as to how it really was back in the day. I also loved that it wasn't very busy and that you could touch a lot of things! Really enjoyed it and it's only 50 Baht per person.

I like history. So, I specifically went to this museum and was ready to pay the 50 Baht. However, right when entering the lobby and looking around at the entrance, the staff demanded 50 Baht. When I asked if I could just look around the reception first, she said this area is also 50 Baht. It's like you are not allowed to spend 1 minute to look around the reception area before you pay. I understand that they are trying to make money, but please make the customers feel welcome and give them 1 minute to walk around the reception area and see what this museum is about before paying. Right now, you feel like being pushed to sth. you will regret. So, in the end I left still not knowing what this museum is all about.

Very interesting little museum. Has a whole lot of stuff. A very vast and great collection of the owners history. Very interesting. Came across it by mistake whilst walking through Phuket Old Town. Recommend giving the place a visit. To enter the museum I believe it cost 50baht per person. (I think... although it's not too expensive anyways) some great treasures to be seen.

Closed at the moment but looks very promising from the outside entrance free 50 Thai baht

Be careful when you decide to walk into here. Even if you're curious and want to see what it's about, they will literally charge you 50 baht for just stepping into the doorway. There's a small sign on a desk on the SIDE door, but there is no price sign at the main entrance. Just another Thai scam. (I'm Thai).

Interesting place to see some artifacts of early Phuket and the tin mining of the past. They are currently doing a major renovation but still worth the 50 bhat admission fee.

The museum is quirky and surprising... it seems that all the equipment used by the hotel has been stored along the years in this rooms, without any maintenance. The overall feeling is quite vintage but the items on display are not in good condition.
