A great department store! Just see the advertising in the premiere league! Prices are acceptable if you have a passport and tickets! In this pandemic situation it is a bit strange. If you are on vacation, you can get good prices. If you live in Phuket, no.

Cool to buy nice chocolate and some liquors even without departure ticket

A duty free mall with an outdoor parking lot full of tourist's buses and vans. It's pretty crowded all day. Most customers are Chinese tourists, same as other branches. So the housekeepers have a heavy duty to keep the restrooms in usable condition. Their staff are nice and helpful. There's a member lounge at the front corner where those with a member card can take a break during their shopping and get some nice coffee made fresh from a coffee machine, tea, or iced herbal beverages and snacks. There's a pricey food court at the back and a restaurant at another corner of the complex which offer a 400 baht lunch buffet and 600 baht dinner seafood buffet with currently come 3 pay 2 promotion (as of Jan 2017).

Congested with bus loads of Chinese tourists. I find the prices are n way cheaper than the malls or outlet center. Staff are polite. You must register at reception (make sure to bring your passport or a photo of it). Its easy to find and offers ample parking for bikes and cars but when I showed up in the late afternoon there were about 8 coach tourist buses. The facility over all is very well maintained and spotless. Food court and Thai souvenir shop upstairs is worth the visit. Also remember an exit ticket will be required and items will be available at the international airport where you will depart Thailand, no land or sea option. The only goods available to take off the premises are thai souvenir from the upstairs shops.

King Power Downtown Duty free shop is the first of its kind in Phuket followed by Sila Duty free shop. It is mostly a touristic place and is frequented by numerous bus tours operated by inbound companies. Business is for foreigners only, so one must have a foreign passport and departure air-ticket to present otherwise there is nothing to do here. Buying here means you will get selected goods on your departure from Thailand. However there are exceptions for goods marked with BLUE labels. Those are goods produced inside Thailand and you might get those right away paying first full price and collecting VAT refund inside the shop just at EXIT gates next to a cafe. Goods with WHITE price-tags are available to be picked by at Phuket or Bangkok international airports on departure after passport control only. Useful tips: Watch out for coupons distributed at Entrance hall by King Power staff when you register with passport. Try to avoid peak hours 17:00-20:00 when huge groups come in packs. Morning hours are best. Check out prices for goods in other shops before buying. Carry Thai Baht with you. Local exchange rate might fluctuate.
