We visited in February 2021. Certainly worth going to if you are into WWII memorabilia, it’s a unique private collections. Only 50 baht so can’t complain about anything for that price! Would have been nice to see things a little more well kept, but there is a lot of stuff to look at and definitely worth going to.

Wonderful collection of thousands of random war memorabilia put across randomly. Looking at replicas of old documents, newspaper cuttings, I thought am getting old and losing sight just to realize the prints were hazy. No clear marking of items and some technically incorrect pictures. With such stuff, with some extra effort and professional help, it might be converted into a great visit to memory line. The old stuff make you go back in time, some painful memories though. The story can be explained in a sensitive way and as one exhibit says \forgive but don't forget\. Never forget the atrocities of humans against mankind so that they are NEVER repeated.
The entrance fee is 50 baht per person. There are not many tourists this time so the museum is very underkept. It's weird because today is memorial day and they did not leave it in good condition. There is dust and spiderwebs all around. All in all it's interesting but not one of my favourite museums to be honest.
The old style museum that scatters old stuff here and there all over the place for you to see. It’s so old, worn out and not well maintained. The only items that are interesting for me are the remaining part of the old wooden bridge that was damaged by the Allied bombings and the old train carriage at the entrance. The rest are old faded photos, scattered old items, dust and spider web. Therefore, I suggest you avoid this one and visit the other Death Railway museum that was located near the cemetery instead. That one is better worth your time and money.
The Curators have worked very hard to tell a story. The price is well worth the 50 baht. The museum is quite eclectic and deserves a look if nothing else to provide your financial support. Covers Early history of the area through archeological items, war history of Japanese and Burmese conflicts. Very interesting.
