Absolute scam. Was charged 3200 baths for one bottle of Singha beer. I was extra careful not to ask for anything they proposed, still ended up paying 3200 baths because of hidden fees. Don't bother trying to negotiate. They will not stop until you pay. The only thing to do is not go inside. I paid by card and hope today I can oppose the transaction. Worst experience in Thailand
Scam. A taxi driver took me there. I stayed for only one hour and they changed me over 10k. I tried to call the police but they immediately ended the call. I paid. What else can I do. They’re mafia. I was worried about my safety. The next day I reported it to police. They told me they would email me the result. I’m waiting for it. A shame of Chiangmai.
If you have been deceived in this place, and you pay money under threats, be sure to contact the police and your money will be returned to you. Even if 2-3 days have already passed - contact the police. The tourist police phone number is 1155 and 1111. The Royal Thai police phone is 191. These guys are brave heroes in place, but at the police station they are cute and fluffy like newborn kittens.
Beware: Got a tuk tuk to give me a a ride back to my hotel after a night of drinking at around 1:00am. He stopped a star karaoke and thought nothing of it. At first everyone was very friendly and had a beer for my self and the driver. When I was ready to go my bill was 8,000baht. After about an hour of arguing they brought my to another room took 2,000baht in cash from my wallet and beat me until I agreed to pay for the 8,000baht bill. Pretty sure I came out of it with a concussion and maybe a cracked rib.
