A stunning elephant sanctuary that is worth the 1.5 hr drive to. 4 elephants - 2 females, a bull and a younger female. Small group sizes makes meeting the elephants a great experience. Elephants are free to do what they want - but will most likely come say hello and see what food you have to offer. Easy to see their different personalities. Get to walk down to river with them and just hang out in forest with them as they browse. A delicious lunch is served. All the people are so happy and friendly and can give loads of insight into the elephants lifestyle. The scenery is alo stunning with a cold river flowing through the mountain. Couldn't ask for a better experience. You can take your own camera but they will also take lots of photos for free for you. If you are thinking of doing an elephant visit let this be a sign to choose into the wild.

Amazing experience!! Spending the day with these beautiful elephants in their natural environment was unforgettable. Ignore the fake reviews as it's very clear when you visit that there are no chains, no fences, elephants are treated with so much love and are completely free to do what they want. You won't regret supporting this organization!!

Great experience! Pai is very passionate about what he and his camp does. The bond between the guides and the 5 elephants is amazing. The tour starts with an overview on elephants in Thailand and how they came to be here at the camp. It was great to understand the background and misconceptions around elephant tourism. Then you get to walk around the jungle with them before jumping in for a mud bath. The elephants are treated with respect and allowed to roam and wander where they wish. Would definitely recommend! Thank you for a great day.

I believe Into the Wild Elephant Camp is trying to do the right thing and Elephants do have a great environment. However I would like to suggest the following. 1. Remove elephant schedules 2. Remove the physical bathing with humans 3. increase transparency on where the elephants sleep. Thanks for making a positive change, however the is still much more we can do to provide amazing experiences that support both tourists, the elephants and your business.

Amazing experience! We first fed the elephants with bananas, and then walked with them and observed them doing things they naturally enjoy. It's quite fascinating just being around such an animal, and playing with and along them. The camp indeed doesn't have any cages, elephants roam around freely, which seems to be quite precious for animals especially of that size. Pai takes good care of them, and it can be seen he and his crew treat the elephants well, with love and respect. Additionally, he's quite experienced and knowledgeable, and ready to answer any question both regarding elephants, but also other animal life in Chiang Mai and Thailand.
