Chiang Mai Mauy Thai is a fantastic muay thai gym. The coaches are very experienced and friendly, the gear is plentiful and classes are well organized - whether there are 15 or 1 students at a time. Highly recommended for anyone just starting or looking to improve your Muay Thai game, as most of the coaches have a few hundred fights behind them and are still fighting!

I have been training at the gym for 7 months now. I highly reccomend training here if you are in Chiang Mai. I have over 27 years experience training and fighting in Thailand and was a Muay Thai Coach for Nottingham Trent Universuty for many years. but I still learn new things at CMMTG. The trainers are all proffesional and accomplished pad holders, many of them are currently fighting on the elite Muay Thai promotions in Thailand, especially Max Muay Thai. They even have a current Max Muay Thai Champion in the gym. They are polite and make the sessions fun. The gym is very clean and well equipted. The equiptment that is shared is cleaned daily. The sessions involve a warm up (someone complained about this in an earlier review) it is essential that the body is prepared for the high impact of Muay Thai, without a proper warm up you would get injured for sure. Next there is usually shadow boxing (also vital in getting relaxed form) and some technichal drills. Then its pad and bag work which is tough and everyone gets allocated one to one rounds with a trainer on the pads. Sessions are finished of with light contact sparring. New students get coached in how to spar correctly and when proficent safe sparring is encouraged. A warm down ends the session. The visa system is slick and well organised, you can trust CMMTG.

Could not be happier with my experience and this Muay Thai gym! The instructors are tough, knowledgeable, watchful and fun. Starts with warm up (running and stretching) then we were separated into groups of beginners and advanced. We were showed the basic moves and practiced them for a few minutes. We then moved to the ring and practiced 1 on 1 (a few rounds) with an instructor. We practiced our moves on bags then later practiced combos with partners.
