I joined a day tour which included transportation from hotel to pier, speed boat to Angthong, snorkeling, kayak, lunch, some spare time on a beach (or you can go for a short trekking), and visiting the blue lake. You will leave your belongings on the speed boat most of the time so try not to bring more than what you need for swimming. Bring some money, though, to pay for the entrance fee charged by the Thai government in the pier. Wear your swimming clothes and be ready to jump into the water any time. This marine park is a must-see in Samui.

Here is much better during the covit19 pandemic. The sea is clear. Hope it will be like this forever.
(My most recent visit was in 2006, so things might have changed.) It is a stunningly beautiful place that requires some effort to reach, and the climbs up the hills to view across the islands have been made safer and easier (and possibly uglier and less fun) by the addition of concrete steps and hand rails in places. Sorry to sound like your mum, but make sure you wear a hat and sun cream. Take your rubbish back with you, even where there are bins, because disposal from the island is already difficult.
Angthong National Park is made up of a lot of a lot of islands. Came island hopping and ended up falling in love with everything! - the waters, the trees, the caves, literally everything! You can go kayaking, island hopping, snorkelling, scuba diving, ziplining, and so much more. Different agents offer different packages so its good if you can find a good agent with a good deal after searching a bit. Thailand is just so beautiful!
Unforgettable trip, spectacular view from the top of the island and a lots of fun on the beach.Kayak and snorkeling was part of the tour as well as the lunch.
