I did read all negative comments for this place, but it's nothing when I'd been there. I'd paid 400thb for playing with one baby elephant in the sea. The mahout take care of baby elephant so well. I did have a joyful time.

Great experience friendly staff while I understand some people are uncomfortable with elephant trekking I was the only customer there today. I can assure you that they are not overworked and the staff cares a great deal about their animals. I would definitely recommend the 2 hour trip for 1300 baht which includes swimming in the ocean with 1 of the younger elephants.

Must place to visit, we had real good time with 9 month old baby elephant.

The elephants are kept in very small pens with either one leg tied to a ridiculously short chain or their 2 front legs chained together. They often sway from side to side, I guess in bored frustration. Customers can pay for a short ride at any time. Around late afternoon some are walked across the road and down to the beach where they are paraded in the hope that tourists will pay to be taken into the sea on their backs and then tipped into the water. This and the inland walks appear to be the elephants' only release from the chains. I am by no means an animal rights campaigner but to anyone with an ounce of feeling for these magnificent creatures, this simply cannot be acceptable.

It's sad to see how these gentle animals are misused. We did not visit the farm or see any shows, but we witnessed how Instagram addicted tourists climbed on the elephants down by the beach for that perfect shot. Many parents obviously wanted to spoil their kids even more, so they paid 100 baht (3 USD) to let their offspring climb around a baby elephant. The animals showed signs of distress and it was a reminder that many tourists are either dumb, have no empathy or are otherwise jaded.
