We took third class. Not very clean because they don't clean the carriages but not terrible. Train leaves every hour or so and on time. The ticket station is a little hard to find. Just head to the last car and its across the tracks. Not friendly service but only 10 baht for the 45 minute ride. Once at the end station head to ticket office for list of return times. There is a nice open air market there. Very traditional Thai. Nice restaurants by the river

タイ国鉄のマハーチャイ線の始発駅ですね。BTSのウォンワイヤイ駅から歩いて行きましょう。途中なつかしいバンコクの下町の風景が広がります。日帰りでメイクローンまで行ってみるもよし、マハーチャイで引き返してくるのもよし。ローカル列車の車窓からのんびり風景を楽しんでみましょう。途中気になった駅があれば、迷わず途中下車。ただし列車の本数は限られているので、復路はバスかタクシーを考えなくてはなりません。
