Food was great. Fresh crunchy organic salad green, duck confit was good. Fresh pasta they made in-house. Next time we will try other bigger pasta. Normally I like linguine but today We went for angel hair pasta with Canadian lobster, cooked just right. Pizza was simple. We went for lunch, not crowded. Staffs and chef were attentive and polite. Open kitchen so you can see them prep your food.

La Tavola at Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel is one of the best Italian restaurants in Bangkok. For us, it scores top marks on value for money, cuisine quality and presentation, ambience and friendliness. A large open dining area is framed in marble, wood and steel panelling, while the open kitchen completes the picture. Choose from the a la carte menu or check the daily specials board if you're in doubt. We kicked off our Italian gastronomic journey with freshly made sour dough bread and pizza sticks and a selection of bruschetta topped with salmon and Parma ham. Our entree was complete with a large, thin crust seared tuna pizza. Every dish at La Tavola is made using the finest ingredients. Our main course was huge as we were sharing dishes such as Tagliatelle Bolognese, Pappardelle Paesana and Gnocchi al Tartufo, plus one of us wanted the Crispy Duck salad with balsamic and sesame dressing and Snow Fish with braised onions, fennel salad and Masala wine reduction. To complete our meal we opted for two desserts: Panna Cotta infused with lavender, and the fabulous chocolate lava cake with maple walnut ice cream. La Tavola is open from 6pm - 10.30.

This restaurant has great potential. The hotel has a cool vibe when you walk in. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The open kitchen concept is fun as you can watch your food being made from across the room. We ordered a pizza and a pasta to share, both were delicious. We also ordered two desserts, which were on the smaller side. We were served by two people, and while the one server was friendly and attentive, the other server did not seem like they wanted to be serving us. After taking our order, she did not take our menus away, and instead came back later to collect them. There was also a mishap with my partners Moscow Mule. The drunk was made very strong, and he asked for more ginger beer to be put. The server brought over ginger ale, and we could not get a straight answer on if they use ginger beer or ginger ale for their Moscow mules. After asking for the bill it took a while to arrive also, and the restaurant only had 3 other tables. Overall a decent experience but I’m not sure we’ll be back.

We came in because all the places on Sunday are full. To our surprise, we were the only table this lunch. The decoration is quite simple with tile floor and standard table, pretty minimal for five star hotel. The food was great! We had duck confit salad and whole seafood plate to share. Very full. This place has a high potential to be happening if the hotel consider promoting more.
