if you use google directions, the main gate is actually on the other side (Yaowarat Alley). Very nice staff. unlike china/russia, no requirements for being a resident of Thailand, so assume travelers can do their tourist visa there. must enter before 90 days from date of issue.

Applied for tourist visa here. Took four days to complete, very friendly staff. Only needed a filled out application form, passport and photo, they send you to a bank to make to transfer for the fee of the visa, so allow 20-30minutes to walk to the bank and back with the transfer receipt. They have blank visa forms if you can't print. No itinerary, proof of funds or hotel booking/invitation needed :)
The location is easy to find.Be careful of the address,if u use google to go. Few people come here.No washroom for guest.No application form supply,you need to download it in advance.
