Taking the orange-color airport bus to Phuket town is the best way to go. One way 100 baht to the town. Leaving on time, and taking around 1-1.5hr depending on traffic condition.

A few years ago getting to Phuket Airport was only by taxi, hotel limousines and busses, and a Thai Airways minibus from Phuket Town Center. At present two new bus services have started: Between the Airport and Patong Beach by Phuket Airport Express Bus, and between the Airport and the Bus Terminal by Airport Bus Phuket. The Phuket Airport bus that has an orange “Airport Bus” logo on them. The big bus’ fare is 100 baht per trip and takes about 1:2050 hours to reach the airport from the main bus station in Phuket Town per trip. For visitors who have just arrived at Phuket International Airport and want to get the airport bus into town, you will need to step outside the arrivals building and go to the left (if you’re facing the car park). With a clear sign saying “Airport Bus” as well as staff in orange uniforms, you won’t miss it. The bus will go all the way to Phuket Bus Station terminal 1 in Phuket Town (the old bus station off Phang Nga Road). Another using way, the same place from Airport to popular beaches is Phuket Smart Bus! From Phuket International Airport, the Phuket Smart Bus service passes many popular beaches including Surin, Kamala, Patong, Karon, Kata and Rawai, covering a 56-kilometre scenic route. The daily bus service is available from 06.00 – 20.15 Hrs., at 45-minute intervals, with over 50 stops along the route in each direction. The travelling time is about 2-3 hours. The bus fare is based on the travelling distance, from 50-170 Baht. Passengers can pay for the ride, using an e-money service ‘Phuket Rabbit Card’, which can be purchased on the bus at 300 Baht each, of which 100 Baht is the card fee and 200 Baht is the value available for payment.
