The best area of phuket for scenery and direct Beach access. When you learn to sail or develop your skills. This is the place to do it. The classroom is on the beach and the yachts anchored directly in front, for easy access. Plenty of islands to sail around or to stop for lunch, yes, it's still possible to drop anchor on some very isolated island beaches. Most people prefer the ones with more facilities and restaurants, but that's choice. I've done courses over the past few years and my son has done some sailing and canoing there.

I had great time learning to sail in SIA. I came alone and took keelboat skipper course, where Dave was my main instructor. He is extremely experienced sailor and great instructor. The course was very hands on and I learned a lot. I definitely recommend!
